Following the recent alterations to the skilled visa program, the Australian government has announced new requirements to obtain Australian citizenship. The candidates must pass an English language exam, demonstrate their commitment to the Australian values and show that they have attempted to integrate into Australian society.
The biggest changes are:
- Four years as permanent resident to qualify;
- Limit to citizenship test attempts (the new limit will most likely be three attempts); and
- Focusing on Australian values, that will be “at the heart of citizenship processes and requirements”.
There have been a few alterations to the Australian immigration laws in the last few weeks, we at Ausvisto will continue our endeavour to help you make your Australian dream come to life.
